Political Reforms
The National Assembly put forth some political reforms for France. The assembly:

- Proclaimed all male citizens equal before the law (all men are created equal)
- Limited the power of the monarchy (stopping the king from being all-powerful, and throwing the divine right of kings theory out the window)
- Established the Legislative Assembly to make laws (unlike before, where the king would make laws on his own; this made it more like the U.S. law system)
- Granted all tax-paying male citizens the right to elect members of the Legislative Assembly. This made people able to choose their representatives instead of a random person being elected.

Social and Economic Reforms
The Assembly put forth some social and economic reforms as well. The reforms:

- Abolished the special privileges of the nobility, causing them to be like everyone else in terms of taxes
- Announced an end to feudalism.
- Called for taxes to be levied according to the ability to pay. This caused the rich people to be taxed more than the poor because they have the money for it. This stopped the hunger that started during King Louis's reign.
- Abolished guilds and forbade labor unions
- Compensated nobles for land seized by peasants.

Religious Reforms
Finally, the Assembly made religious reforms.

- Declared freedom of religion. It doesn't matter what religion you are to the government.
- Took over and sold church lands. Due to this, the Church isn't all-powerful, as it was before.
- Placed the French Catholic Church under control of the state
- Provided that bishops and priests be elected and receive government salaries
